Our resident wild turkey, Franklin, is a favorite among visitors. With handsome plumage, this male bird often calls to his leading ladies, all of whom may be seen strutting around our barn area.

In another week, turkey will be top of mind for many folks in Brooklyn, but in the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Prospect Park Zoo, they’re “talkin’ turkey” every day.

One of the popular animals in the zoo’s barn area is a large North American wild turkey. Named Franklin after one of America’s founding fathers, he can be seen strutting around the yard with two female turkeys.
